Communication is Key

The Person Behind the Role
Brigitta Navordarszky is an experienced marketing project coordinator who has assumed the role of ContentLab’s Project Manager. Consider her your content project and author matchmaker. Let’s get to know the person behind the role.
Brigitta, tell me about yourself. Where did you grow up, where do you live, and what is your role in ContentLab IO?
I was born in Hungary and I came to Canada when I was 6. I’ve been living in Toronto ever since. At ContentLab IO, I serve as the main point of communication between internal staff (like authors and sales reps) and clients—kind of a kitten herder. My role is essentially communication and connecting the authors and clients to each other, the project, and the process.
Why do you do what you do?
What excites me is helping people and getting a new project off the ground. It’s exciting to put procedures and processes in place to get the content product to work smoothly for everyone.
What attracted you to ContentLab’s mission and vision?
Hmmm…it goes along with my previous answer. I like starting something new, and there is a clear need for content for our customers. I like being able to bring the thing that fills that need to life.
How did you get interested in helping people and companies communicate through content marketing?
In my previous job I worked in marketing, and I’ve had a lot of experience with how to target an audience with what content, what vehicle, and looking for patterns of what works and what doesn’t. Here at ContentLab we are working on producing the content itself, so I am helping the client achieve their content marketing goals.
How do you think that participating in the ContentLab IO practitioner community helps your practitioners?
From talking to some of our authors, I know they love learning, especially new technologies. It excites them, and it helps their own professional credentials and knowledge. And, a lot of our authors enjoy writing and having opportunities to work with different clients.
How do you see your role in helping the practitioner author and ContentLab IO practitioner community?
I work with authors to connect them with writing opportunities, with the goal to educate other developers using the voice of a real developer. My role is to find the best author for the writing assignment and the best writing assignment for the author. My goal is to keep our authors happy and on track with all of their writing projects.
How do you think the content you help produce helps your clients?
I think it helps our clients in different ways. A lot of our content gives the client’s brand or product exposure. For example, we have content we produced for a client that has received >1000 claps on Medium, and it’s still rising. As a result, they’ve more than doubled their followers on Medium. That has given them great exposure, and it builds a virtuous cycle of brand awareness for them. As this content gets more claps, the company channel gets more followers, which means they will get more eyeballs on the next piece of content they post.
How do you see your role in helping the client?
I make sure the content is delivered to the client on time, as well as that they are happy with and proud to share that content. We try and help guide them on the content strategy as a team. For me particularly, my role is to make sure that the content is delivered to the client and that they are happy with it.
What words of wisdom would you like to share with other prospective technical authors?
What attributes should they have to be successful? Authors, always communicate. If you get stuck or have a question, we will always help you get any info you need to deliver a project. The more we communicate, the better I know you and can make the best project match. And, of course, get your work in on time!
What words of wisdom would you like to share with prospective clients about the content creation process?
I would say we want to help our clients achieve their goals. To do that, we need to work collaboratively so we get information from you that ensures we can produce the work you want in a timely fashion. We’ll do all the work for you, just turn around your comments on topics and the outline so we can get your approval on those as quickly as possible.
Is there anything I didn’t ask that you’d like to share with practitioners or clients?
I think we covered the major points. They key thing for me is communication and connecting. That’s my bag.
How do you want to be known?
My goal is to make the content creation process painless for everyone; clients and authors. I help connect people with opportunities, with the goal to educate others, and ensure the process along the way is seamless!

Brigitta is inspired every day to smooth the way for producing high-quality technical content written by practitioners for practitioners. She achieves that by creating and implementing processes, and also connecting with clients, ContentLab practitioner authors, and the ContentLab content production team. She views her primary roles as communication and organization, and she is thrilled to be a part of creating an outstanding experience for everyone. Brigitta calls herself a “kitten herder.” I think of her as the human snow plow clearing the path for efficient and effective technical content creation.
